FAQs

What is BroadBand Light (BBL®)?

BroadBand Light (BBL®) is an advanced, non-invasive skin treatment that uses intense pulsed light to target and correct a wide range of skin concerns, from sun damage and age spots to redness and fine lines. The light energy works beneath the surface to stimulate collagen production and cellular renewal, revealing clearer, more youthful-looking skin over time. With little to no downtime and sessions that take just minutes, BBL® is one of the most effective and convenient treatments available for long-term skin rejuvenation.

What Will happen during the treatment

During a BBL® treatment, your eyes will be protected with safety shields and a cool gel may be applied to the skin. Your clinician will pass a handheld device over the treatment area, delivering precise pulses of broad-spectrum light energy into the skin. You may feel a brief warming or snapping sensation with each pulse, but the treatment is generally well-tolerated and comfortable.

What areas can be treated?

Common treatment areas for BBL® include:

  • Face (most popular) — targets sun damage, age spots, redness, and uneven tone
  • Neck — often treated alongside the face for a consistent result
  • Chest/Décolletage — addresses sun damage and texture from years of sun exposure
  • Hands — reduces age spots and discoloration
  • Shoulders and Back — great for sun damage and acne
  • Arms — targets pigmentation and uneven skin tone
How long will it take to recover?

BBL® is considered a "lunchtime treatment" for most patients. There's no true downtime in the traditional sense. You can return to work and daily activities immediately, though sun protection is critical during healing.

How many treatments are recommended?

Some patients see significant improvement in as few as 1–2 sessions if concerns are minimal. Results are cumulative, so consistency is key. Most patients notice improvement after the first session, with the best results visible after completing the full series recommended by our providers after assessing your skin.
